The New Mexico Department of Health reported 540 new COVID-19 cases in the state on Monday (Oct. 5), including 17 new cases in Taos County.
The total number of cases in Taos County is currently at 2,254. No new deaths were reported, leaving the total number of deaths connected to the disease at 61.
Statewide, a total of 256,115 cases have been reported since the start of the pandemic, with 227,476 recovered, according to the NMDOH. A total of 352 individuals were hospitalized for COVID-19 through Oct. 5. The current number of deaths statewide is 4,830.
