“In the second quarter, we saw strong and continued engagement in our games and better monetization, âsaid Vlad Suglobov, CEO of G5 Entertainment. “Our own games grew 23% year over year and 5% quarter over quarter in USD. The new generation of games (released in the last two years) jumped 74% year over year and 13% quarter over quarter in USD. The new generation of games accounted for 47% of revenue for the quarter, now by far our largest segment of the portfolio. If we look at the total portfolio of clean games, it represents 64% of revenue compared to 53% a year ago. Overall, we had a record first half with a record EBIT of SEK 103m, a 23% growth compared to the same period last year. Work on our new games continues. We released two games this year and remain on track to release six new games in 2021. â
The turnover for the period was SEK 337.0 million (376.3), a decrease of 10% compared to the same period in 2020 in SEK terms. In US dollar terms, revenue increased 3% year-on-year.
Gross margin increased to 59 percent (57 percent) as a larger share of revenue comes from its own games.
EBIT for the period was SEK 43.2 million (44.8).
The net result for the period amounted to SEK 40.2 million (39.3).
Earnings per share for the period, before dilution, was SEK 4.67 (4.43).
The cash flow amounted to -45.1 M SEK (-50.6), negatively impacted by dividends of -54.1 M SEK (-21.9).
The average number of monthly active users (MAU) was 6.7 million, down 6% from the same period in 2020. The average number of daily active users (DAU) was 1.7 million , a decrease of 2% compared to the same period in 2020. Monthly average Single payers (MUP) was 203.2 thousand, a decrease of 11% while the average gross monthly income per paying user (MAGRPPU) was $ 66.3, an increase of 15% over the same period last year. These changes reflect the fact that the second quarter of last year was the ‘boosted containment’ quarter which was an outlier on the growth curve, and the changes in the composition of the portfolio with Match-3 games taking a higher turn. large share of revenue associated with even more efficient user acquisition.
