Government asks for help from companies to make Raj Tb-free | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Aiming to eliminate Tuberculosis (TB) by 2025, the health department has sought help from industrialists. A meeting with industry representatives will take place on Friday for their collaboration in the fight against tuberculosis.
A health department official said the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) is working towards India’s commitment to end TB by 2025. Joint efforts from all sectors and ministries are needed to achieve the goal of TB-free Rajasthan. In the same vein, intersectoral engagement was considered one of the important strategies of the program.
To strengthen the national TB response, collaboration with big business, trade associations, private industries and public sector companies is necessary for a sustainable response, the official said.
At the meeting, the health department aims for companies and industries to adopt the “Corporate TB Pledge” to collaborate under the NTEP.
In this regard, the Department of Health will organize a business consultation on Friday in collaboration with the Department of Industries and the partner organization “The Union”. Around 100 Rajasthan-based companies, UAPs and trade associations are expected to attend the event.
The objectives of the proposed business consultation will be to sensitize businesses on TB and its socio-economic aspects and to mobilize them to work towards the elimination of TB.
Veenu Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industries, Dr Prithvi Rajhealth department secretary, and Dr. Jitendra Kumar SoniMission Director, National Health Mission, will participate in the event.
