The New Mexico Department of Health announced 2,104 new COVID-19 cases on Friday (Feb. 4), including 28 new cases in Taos County.
The state also reported 19 additional deaths from the virus on Tuesday, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic in New Mexico to 6,535. No new deaths were reported for Taos County, leaving the total number of deaths across the county at 80. The most recent person to die in COVID in Taos County was a woman in her 50’s who was hospitalized with the underlying conditions.
The total statewide cases stood at 489,701 with 350,084 cases designated as recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health. Currently, 615 individuals are hospitalized with COVID-19 in the state.
