The New Mexico Department of Health announced 3,231 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday (Jan. 6), including 33 new cases in Taos County.
The state also reported 36 additional deaths on Thursday (24 recent deaths and 12 additional deaths added from within the past 30 days), bringing the total since the start of the pandemic in New Mexico to 5,969. One new death was reported for Taos County – a man in his 70s was hospitalized – bringing the total to 74.
The total statewide cases stood at 364,861 with 314,196 cases designated as recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health. Currently, 540 individuals are hospitalized with COVID-19 in the state.
